What I'm sourcing for this week: Feb 1 Edition
Personalities who celebrate past decades, Mother's Day Gift Guide (non affiliate links), selling antiques, best books of 2022 and more
Hi friends.
Anyone else feel like they are pushing through quicksand today while trying to do — well anything at all even remotely productive? Whew! It’s a very Monday-ish Wednesday. It’s also my mom’s birthday! In honor of that, here’s a dorky photo of us wearing Beefeater hats in London at the Kensington Palace gift shop. Oh how things have gotten soooooo crazy with the royals since that trip!
If you haven’t read this week’s Top Tier Consulting newsletter, definitely check that out.
We tackled this question leftover from our monthly Top Tier Talk in which we do Zoom Q&As and presentations with all of our paid newsletter subscribers:
Networking, media events, desksides. What do journalists prefer? Do you think PR people grabbing coffee with journalists to chat is still a good tactic? What actually drives media to brand dinners/luncheons, etc. Do you think swanky hot spots in LA/NYC - or perhaps an amazing swag bag?
We dove into:
Should you take a journalist to lunch? Buy them coffee? Do drinks?
How can you network like this with out-of-town journalists?
Are people still going to events? Should you be throwing them?
Virtual vs. in-person events
Tips to host in-person and virtual events writers will actually want to attend —
and most importantly will walk away inspired to include your clients in their coverage
What to know before sending your client’s products to writers to try out
And more….
You can read that HERE.
A MUST READ: My TOP Tips for landing Top-Tier Media Placement, Standing out in a writer’s inbox, and more in this FREE post.
If you haven’t yet read our TTC free post we kicked off January with, it’s a definite must read (and a really great example of the type of weekly content that send to subscriber inboxes):
You can read that HERE.

Shondaland
People who live in the past/dedicate their lifestyle to celebrating past decades:
Looking for individuals, like YouTuber Sage Lilleyman, who uses her vintage inspired channel to share sewing adventures, vintage housewife projects, all things DIY, vintage house renovations, and more — for whom the present just isn't cutting it. Rather, they find fashion, beauty, and culture value in living past decades, be it 1920s Paris or the groovy 60s. Would love to talk to celebrities, TikTokers, social media personalities, people with blogs about this and just everyday folks who live to celebrate a past decade!
Parade E-Edition Cover Stars
Currently sourcing for Aprily and beyond. The E-edition follows a similar distribution as Parade print did and goes out digitally to newspaper subscribers across America. Some also run print excerpts of the interviews. Looking for notable, recognizable names in entertainment, sports and music.
Please email submissions to NCPajer@gmail.com. I promise I review them all. Thanks in advance for any that you send, as always!
