Time sensitive sourcing for some big features
Doctors to talk about weight, longevity & sex lives + Main Coon Cats, 5-minute habits to unwind at the end of the workday & pet insurance
Publicists, if you haven’t read this FREE post that Jill Schildhouse and I teamed up to write, definitely give it a glance. “Our TOP Tips from 2022 (spoiler: they ALL still apply in the new year!)”
We’re getting amazing feedback on these tips (and this is just a taste of what we offer through our consulting sessions and weekly Substack). Hope it brings a little ease to your pitching in the new year!
And if you like this content, make sure to subscribe to our Top Tier Consulting Substack newsletter so that you’ll receive our weekly industry insights and PR/media tips in your inbox. As we’re 2 busy writers cranking out articles for a living, we charge a nominal fee for our Substack subscription (but again, the above post is free so definitely check it out). We have monthly, annual, and founders memberships available, each with their own perks. But all paid memberships of any plan:
Get access to the weekly articles we team up to write delivered into your inbox. We dive into meaty subjects, like the one we sent out today: How to Make YOUR Product Stand Out From ALL the Other Product Pitches In a Writer's Inbox
Can attend our monthly Top Tier Talks where we both appear on Zoom with subscribers to talk about the latest happenings within the media landscape and answer subscriber Q&As. Our next one is coming up 1.24 so it’s a great time to sign up for a subscription.
We answer all comments and questions that people write in our newsletters.
Now onto what I’m sourcing for this week. Please email NCPajer@gmail.com with suggestions!
AARP Magazine
For AARP Mag and its 38m something followers, working on 2 time sensitive stories that I’d love some sourcing help on:
Weight & Longevity: Looking for some MDs who specialize in weight (not affiliated with brands but can be affiliated with books, institutions, universities, medical centers) to weigh in on how our weight affects our longevity in 3 different decades of life: Our 50s, 60s, and 70s and beyond. This will be research heavy, looking at studies and different stats for each generation i.e. in your 50s, weight gain is not ideal but in your 70s you don’t want to lose too much. What does our weight say about how long we’ll live in each decade and what are some actionable weight tips that people in these age categories should be following?
Weight & Your Sex Life: Looking for some MDs (not affiliated with brands but can be affiliated with books, institutions, universities, medical centers) to weigh in on how our weight affects our sex lives in 3 different decades of life: Our 50s, 60s, and 70s and beyond. This will be research heavy, looking at studies and different stats for each generation. What role does our weight play into our sex drive, our sex life, and how much sex we’re having? We’re diving into studies here and looking at things from both a mental and physical aspect + providing readers with actionable tips on what to do in each of those 3 decades.
Need both of these going ASAP so would love to set up phoners for this week or early next at the latest.
Huffington Post
For a story on "5-Minute Practices To Switch You From Work To Leisure Mode," looking to connect with some productivity coaches, business professionals and real people who have tips to share with our audience. I would love a quick blurb or bullet point about what their tip would be to see if it’s a fit before I have them flush it out.
Great Pet Care
Do you have a Main Coon cat? If so we want to feature their picture in an upcoming article!
Medscape
Doctors with their own wineries: Could still use a few more to speak to!
Apple News
Veterinarians (not associated with brands) to weigh in on what to know about pet insurance
Please send all emails to NCPajer@gmail.com. Thanks in advance!
