A great read on why you should take a moment to PAUSE before replying to a writer’s call for sources
Myself and many colleagues lately are noticing that we send Substacks out or post on HARO, Qwoted, etc. and ask for a source. Then, literally like 1 minute after our post goes live, our inbox gets flooded with sourcing options. While not dragging your feet to get your clients in front of a writer is important, sourcing on a writer’s end is not about who gets there first; it’s about what sources makes the most sense for a story. Sometimes it pays off to take a moment and really think through a writer’s requirements before submitting clients.
We dove into that deeply in this week’s Top Tier Consulting Substack (lots of free advice on this before the paywall for non subscribers — and hey if you liked it, you may just want to subscribe for weekly content just like that + access to a monthly Ask us Anything session with Nicole & Jill). It may be something you want to check out!

Upcoming sourcing needs
URGENT REQUEST: AARP: People age 50+ who have pets that aren’t dogs or cats. Wrapping up this story and need a few more sources. NOTE: As a writer I'm always looking to fill my articles with diverse voices. Working on a story on people 50 and up who have pets that aren't dogs or cats (think fish, snakes, frogs, pot bellied pigs, guinea pigs, you name it) and am having the hardest time finding someone who meets that criteria who isn't white. Anyone know anyone who would be cool to feature in this? Thanks so much in advance!

How Strengthening Your Butt Can Change Your Life: Looking for some trainers and MDs (not affiliated with brands) to talk about how working out your glutes is good for your entire body, how to best prepare your body to climb stairs (whether it’s taking the stairs instead of the elevator, doing the stair master, climbing the bleachers at a nearby park or school) and the benefits of this.

Feeling Low? Here’s How to Come Alive: Many of us have been in a funk lately, no matter the age group. Looking to provide people with expert advice on how to rise out of what have been a rough last few years to find exuberance and fulfillment so to move forward, positively, with whatever life stage you might find yourself in. Looking for life coaches, therapists, experts who would make sense for this to talk about this topic!

How to choose your healthcare provider for your pregnancy: Looking to speak to a board-certified OBGYN and a midwife (not associated with brands) to discuss topics like:
Considering an ob-gyn or family practice doctor you already see
Asking people you trust for recommendations
Searching your insurance provider's website for in-network providers/whether or not they take Medicaid, if you're on it
Considering where you want to deliver your baby, which hospital or birthing center they're affiliated with
Considering the location of the office and their hours. You'll be there a lot throughout pregnancy so you must be able to get transportation there, and be able to work it into your schedule.
Whether or not you need a specialist (for example a MFM, if you're high-risk)

Please email all source options IN A SEPARATE EMAIL WITH A CORRESPONDING HEADER to NCPajer@gmail.com (NOTE: Emails that reply directly to my Substack get confusing to navigate and usually lost in my inbox).
