Alright, I found a reason to send another Substack because I took another assignment (of course I did) ;-)
Need to speak to career coaches & therapists, GenX men & need gift guide submissions
I wasn’t supposed to but I took on one more assignment before heading out on maternity leave. And I’m still looking for sources for a few of the others so figured I’d send out one more Substack for now. :-)
First, a few bits of housekeeping:
If you missed our Christmas in July Affiliate Marketing workshop, don’t worry. You can still get the recording + the presentation deck + the essential checklist of what you should include in emails when pitching clients on affiliates.
It was an AMAZING session.
Between affiliate guru Sarah Karger’s kick ass presentation, the affiliate pitches that work examples that we shared and the amazing Q&A session, we really left no stones unturned in the affiliate marketing world. We’ve been receiving rave reviews and it’s so cool to hear about how Tuesday made those who attended feel so much more confident getting their clients ready for holiday gift guide pitching. That was exactly our hope! :-)
If you missed it, no big deal! We’re still selling it so you can watch on your own time. It was so action packed, we went 37 minutes over to make sure we got to everyone’s questions!
You’ll also get Sarah’s presentation deck + a helpful checklist on what to include about your client’s affiliate program in an email pitch to a writer or editor.
Here’s a great testimonial a publicist who attended sent over today (all the feels!)
“We all know the media landscape is shifting, and understanding how affiliate platforms operate is essential to helping our brands land continuous coverage. TTC's 'Christmas in July' workshop is a must-attend for PR professionals wanting to up their affiliate marketing game and get ahead of the ever-so-competitive gift guide season. Jill and Nicole took the time to explain how gift guide assignment works, which offered great insight to help with pitch development, and answered everyone's questions thoughtfully and thoroughly. Sarah's deep dive into affiliate marketing was exceptional, easy to understand, and offered a new perspective I am eager to incorporate into my business strategy and share with my clients."
For more information on what we covered in the session, check out this post we sent out on Wednesday.

If you missed the copywriting 101 course I co-taught with 6-figure copywriter Terry Schilling, we have the video and course materials available for half off ($29)
It was a whole lotta fun and I’m super proud of how it turned out.
More details on the session:
Myself and fellow seasoned copywriter Terry Schilling spend 90 minutes teaching you how to make a 6-figure career out of copywriting (Terry did it in his very 1st year as a freelance copywriter) and/or how to earn some extra cash to supplement your career doing copywriting as a side gig.
What’s waiting for you inside the workshop:
The many different types of copywriting that brands need help with — and hire for
Where and how to find quality copywriting clients and jobs that pay well
Examples of copywriting that have wowed our clients, so you can see what you can offer
Everything you need to know about building a portfolio (what platform to host it, what to show, how to design it for free)
How much you can make copywriting and how to set your own rates
A Q&A with personalized questions that will help jumpstart your online writing career
And so much more.
In addition to the video, you’ll also leave with:
A sample pitch letter/email we’ve used to get 5-figure clients
Exercises and examples to develop your portfolio
A client prospect call script to increase your chances of hearing ‘yes’
Lists of reliable sites to find copywriting gigs and get the gig
And a chance to ‘pick the brain’ of two writers who work with some of the biggest brands in the world.
Meet Nicole & Terry, two award-winning freelance copywriters who have been in the game a long time. Between the two of them, they’ve written for brands like Amazon, AAA, HBO, Honda, Chewy, ABC, History.com, Lifetime, Red Bull, FOX, Johnson & Johnson, Airbnb, The Home Depot, Kimberly-Clark, Citibank, Volkswagen, Microsoft, PGA of America and more.

Career coaches, therapists, and negotiating experts to weigh in on:
The New Rules for Getting Paid for What Your Worth
With many career professionals now prioritizing better salaries over chasing titles, we offer new insight and information on how our readers can up their ambition when it comes to job hopping and negotiating for the best salary possible in any job.
Essentially, we're looking at and drawing helpful information from the new career trend that sees professionals who would rather be making more money than sitting in director positions. That, in turn, means more job hopping and less remaining in positions for decades, slowly crawling up the chain with only incremental raises to boot.
Looking for them to comment on:
How to find a job that pays what you want
How to ask for what you're worth
How to negotiate
Red flags to look out for
How to prioritize a title vs pay
How to channel or find ambition to advocate for yourself.
